NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte is visiting Kyiv on February 3, the day of Russia's massive attack on Ukraine. He met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and addressed the Verkhovna Rada, where he assured that partners are working to speed up missile deliveries to Ukraine.

He noted that millions of euros from allies and partners are being provided through the PURL mechanism. Since the summer of 2025, this mechanism has provided 75% of all missiles received by Ukraine that go to the front, and 90% of missiles that protect airspace.

"We realize that a lot [is] still needed and quickly. We are aware of that and we are constantly working on making sure that it comes through the PURL mechanism and other opportunities," said Rütte .

He assured that the Alliance will continue to support Ukraine and put pressure on Russia.

"Rest assured that NATO stands with Ukraine and is ready to do so for years to come. Your security is our security. Your peace is our peace. And it must be just and lasting," Rutte said .

He also emphasized that Russia's nighttime massive attack demonstrates the "lack of seriousness" of its intentions to end the war.

  • On the day of the NATO Secretary General's visit to Ukraine, Russia launched a new massive attack, launching 71 missiles and 450 drones . Only a little more than half of the missiles were shot down, as Russia launched a lot of ballistic missiles, which can only be countered by Petriots.
  • The aggressor state struck at thermal power plants, in total, eight regions were under attack.
