Poland scrambles planes and tightens security due to Russia's attack on Ukraine
Poland has been scrambling planes because of Russia's attack on Ukraine on the night of July 9. This was reported by the Operational Command of the country's Armed Forces.
Polish and allied aircraft took to the skies at around 04:00. Regular pairs of fighter jets were deployed, and ground-based air defense and radar systems reached the highest state of readiness.
Security measures have been taken in areas bordering the areas under threat.
"The Operational Command of the Armed Forces is monitoring the current situation, and the forces and means subordinate to it remain in full readiness for immediate response," the Polish military said .
However, at around 06:30, the threat of Russian missile strikes on Ukrainian territory decreased. Polish and allied aircraft, as well as ground assets, returned to standard operations.
