Russia launched yet another massive missile and drone attack all over Ukraine overnight on Monday, the cities of Kyiv and Odesa being the most hit.

In Odesa, first explosions were heard just before midnight, and at least five more followed minutes later, several witnesses told LIGA.net.

The region was hit with Russian X-22 missiles, Ukraine’s South military operational command confirmed later. A warehouse of a food company and a recreational area on the Black Sea coast were hit.

Three people were injured in Odesa, and the body of another was found under the rubble.

Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones, in turn, were launched in the northern regions of Ukraine.

Air defences were engaged in Kyiv and the Kyiv region for a long time. Witnesses told LIGA.net of numerous explosions and the sound of machine guns, apparently Ukrainian military targeting Russian drones.

Kyiv mayor Vitaly Klitschko later reported that the debris had hit three districts, with a residential building catching fire and a high-pressure gas pipe damaged.

In total, five people were injured in Kyiv.

Mr Klitschko said the attack had been the most massive since the start of the full-scale war.

Russia has resumed massive air attacks in recent weeks as Ukraine gears up for a planned counteroffensive.

In one of the deadliest strikes so far, 23 Ukrainians were killed and fifty wounded in Kherson and the Kherson region last week.
