The second day of talks between Ukraine, Russia and the United States ends in Abu Dhabi
updatedThe second day of talks between Ukraine, Russia and the United States has ended in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. This was reported to the media by the press service of the National Security and Defense Council.
The agency announced the end of negotiations at 13:55. It added that communication regarding the meetings would follow later.
NSDC secretary and head of the Ukrainian delegation Rustem Umerov reported on the start of negotiations at 9:20.
He noted that the work will be in the same format as on February 4: "Trilateral consultations, group work and further synchronization of positions. The results will be announced later".
Earlier, the special envoy of the US president Steve Witkoff confirmed that on February 5, the parties agreed to exchange 314 prisoners between Ukraine and Russia. On the evening before exchange was announced by president Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The aggressor country's Ministry of Defense says that the exchange has already taken place, in the 157-for-157 format, but the Ukrainian side has not yet confirmed this.
This should be the first exchange in more than four months – the last one took place on October 2, 2025. Back then, 205 Ukrainian military and civilians returned from Russian captivity.

- Meanwhile, one of Russia's main demands is the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from the Ukrainian Donbas. On February 4, president Zelenskyy said that the complete seizure of this territory will cost Russia 800,000 casualties and that the occupiers "will not last that long".
