A Russian An-72 military transport aircraft was destroyed in an explosion at the Ostafyevo airbase in Moscow on December 12, according to Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate.
The aircraft, which belonged to the Russian Navy, had its main power unit detonated.
The estimated cost of the destroyed Russian aircraft is approximately $4.5 million.
DIU did not specify the means by which the strike was carried out but promised that "there will be just retribution for every war crime committed against the Ukrainian people."
