Rotten food for the army. SBI announces exposure of food service chief on corruption – video
Law enforcement officers blocked a corruption scheme for the supply of products for combat units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Dnipro region. About this reported State Bureau of Investigation.
According to the investigation, the scheme was organized by the head of the food service of one of the military units. He acted in collusion with the founder and commercial director of the supplier company.
According to the SBI, the scheme was based on so-called non-commodity transactions. Officials signed acceptance certificates for the full volume of products, while only a part of them was actually delivered to the military. The rest of the products were written off through controlled entities.
In addition to the shortages, the quality of the imported products did not meet the requirements. In particular, the military was supplied with rotten vegetables and fruits, including for units that performed tasks at the front.
The head of the food service received bribes for accepting low-quality products and not sending complaint letters. The size of the kickbacks reached up to 50% of the cost of the supply. In just one week, the amount of illegal payments could exceed UAH 1 million. For conspiracy purposes, the money was transferred through currency exchange offices.
Law enforcement officers found out that the man spent the money for personal enrichment. He purchased real estate in two residential complexes, several premium cars and other valuable items, registering the property in the names of his relatives.

This is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
