June 2025 was the month with the highest number of civilian casualties in Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war. This is stated in the report of the Ukrainian mission of the United Nations.

Out of 1575 Ukrainians, 232 were killed and 1343 wounded in 16 regions and Kyiv. The number of civilians killed in June is the highest in almost a year, the document says. The overwhelming majority (98%) of victims were in government-controlled areas.

Moreover, in June 2025, the Russians fired almost 10 times more munitions at Ukraine than in June 2024. Most of the victims, 53%, suffered from missile strikes on cities.

"In Dnipro, Kyiv and Kharkiv, for example, strikes often resulted in multiple casualties in a single incident, with particularly high numbers of civilian casualties," the report says .

In frontline cities, the number of civilian casualties remained high. Most of them were carried out by drones at close range, especially in Kherson and Donetsk regions.
