Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has moved to an underground bunker for fear of a strike from the United States. This was reported by the opposition media Iran International citing two unnamed sources close to the government.

Khamenei's move to the bunker came after senior military and national security officials assessed the increased risk of a potential US attack.

The facility was described as a fortified site with interconnected tunnels.

The son of Iran's supreme leader, Massoud Khamenei, has taken over the day-to-day management of his father's office and serves as the main channel of communication with the executive branch of government.

On January 17, Trump called on to end the reign of terror Khamenei in Iran amid mass protests that swept the country in late December.

"It's time to look for new leadership in Iran," the American president said.
