Zelensky: Ukraine will be fully prepared to join the EU in 2027

Ukraine will be fully prepared to join the European Union in 2027. It is important to specify the date of accession in the agreement on the end of the war to obtain clear security guarantees, the President said Volodymyr Zelenskyy at a joint press conference with the presidents of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda and Poland Karol Navrotsky at a press conference in Vilnius.
Technically, Ukraine will be ready to open all clusters in the first half of 2026. Full technical readiness for accession is planned to be achieved in 2027, the President noted.
"We want the 27th year. We are talking about a specific date when Ukraine will be ready," Zelensky said.
According to him, EU membership is part of the European security guarantees for Ukraine, along with "Coalition of the willing". The President emphasized that these are primarily economic security guarantees.
"We want a specific date in our agreement on the end of the war, so that all parties will then adhere to these agreements, including the aggressor, who will sign the 20-point plan if such a moment comes, so that no one else will block us," Zelensky said.
