6,000 homes in Kyiv are without heat, and hundreds of thousands of subscribers in Nizhyn are without power
In Chernihiv region, hundreds of thousands of consumers were left without electricity, and in Kyiv, almost 6,000 homes are without heating again – these are the consequences of a massive nighttime Russian attack. The details were reported in Chernihivoblenergo and mayor capitals Vitali Klitschko.
During an attack on the night of January 24, Russians damaged an important energy facility in the Nizhyn district of Chernihiv region. Currently, power engineers are working to restore power supply, but due to the security situation, this process may be delayed.
Critical infrastructure in Kyiv has been damaged. Most of the buildings that were connected or tried to be connected to the heating system after the shelling on January 9 and 20 have been left without heat again. There are also problems with water supply on the left bank and partially on the right bank.
Klitschko noted that utilities and power engineers are working to return services to Kyiv residents' homes.
In total, on the night of January 24 Russia launches a new attack on Ukraine 21 missiles and 375 drones. The main target was Kyiv region and the energy sector. Air defense managed to shoot down 357 drones and 15 missiles.
- As a result of night attack in Kyiv, one person was killed and four were injured. Cars were burning and residential buildings were damaged. In Kharkiv, 19 people were injured, and the enemy damaged houses, a medical facility and a maternity hospital.
- on January 23, Klitschko called on Kyiv residents stockpile medicines, food and water. According to him, the situation with energy could get even worse. The capital is considering and preparing for various options. As of the morning of that day without heat there were 1940 high-rise buildings.
