Bad weather caused power outages in Odesa and five districts of the region, said the regional branch of the energy holding DTEK.

"On the night of January 31, severe weather conditions across almost the entire Odesa region led to wire breaks and damage to power grid elements due to ice freezing," the post reads.

According to power engineers, in the morning, customers in Podilskyi, Berezivskyi, Rozdilnyanskyi, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi and Odesa districts will be without power, while in the regional center, electricity is supplied to critical facilities.

DTEK noted that its specialists had been working all night and continue to inspect the lines and repair equipment to restore electricity to homes as soon as possible.

"We ask you to understand the situation – the work is ongoing," the statement concluded.
