The Main Military Clinical Hospital of the Armed Forces of Ukraine exposed a scheme involving the employment of "dead souls". This was reported to by Security Service of Ukraine and Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko .
Head of the hospital's security and defense department detained.
According to the investigation, the defendant recruited his acquaintances to his unit, who then did not appear at the state institution and never started performing official tasks.
"It worked through fake report cards, official documents and a complete imitation of 'presence'. In fact, there are "dead souls" on the ground of medical and military workers, while real specialists are working with overload and lack of people," Kravchenko said .
Law enforcers claim that among the "clients" was a citizen of military age who evaded mobilization.
"The recorded conversations only emphasize the level of cynicism. One of the defendants dreamed of discharging from military service using forged documents, saying that he was "waiting for a foreign IT company," the Prosecutor General said .
Another woman, according to him, was admitted to the main military hospital solely for maternity leave and seniority, although in real life she worked as a manicurist and "calmly discussed this in a conversation with her fortune teller.".
After being enrolled in the Defense Ministry, these individuals falsely enlisted for military service. At the same time, according to law enforcement, the salary cards of the "workers" were held by the suspect, who withdrew money from them.
It was documented how the official "earned" UAH 2.6 million in this way since May 2022.
The man was suspected of misappropriation of property through abuse of office committed on an especially large scale (he may face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation). He was arrested.
Two of his "clients" were also suspected. Their actions are classified as evasion of military service by self-mutilation or other means committed under martial law (up to 10 years in prison).
