Ukrainian defenders have cleared the settlements of Chuhunivka and Ternuvate in Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions respectively from the Russian occupiers.

In the 16th Army Corps told that the occupants, taking advantage of the difficult weather conditions, tried to quietly penetrate the combat lines of the defenders near the village of Chuhunivka.

"Despite the bad weather, the operators of the reconnaissance UAVs detected the enemy group in a timely manner. After that, the Shkval specialized infantry company cleared the settlement," the statement said.

The command added that the defenders captured a part of the occupiers who laid down their arms, and the military also planted the state flag in the village.

The settlement is under the control of the Defense Forces, the corps emphasized.

Chuhunivka is located in the Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region, about 500 meters from the Russian-Ukrainian border. To the south of the village is the "gray zone" (i.e., active hostilities are taking place there, and it is not known who controls it), and beyond it is the Russian-occupied territory.

Meanwhile, the Southern Defense Forces reported that Ternuvate, Zaporizhzhia region, is under Ukrainian control.

The formation published a video of two defenders holding a Ukrainian flag and standing on a Russian flag.

"Russians sometimes post online their so-called "victories for an hour" or well-known "flag-plantings". But, as experience shows, the occupiers have two options: capture or destruction. We are in Ternuvate, where we are doing our job. Ternuvate is ours, Ukrainian," the soldier said in the video.

Ternuvate is a village located northwest of Huliaipole. The Ukrainian analytical project Deepstate records a gray zone near and on a small part of the outskirts of the settlement:
