A special unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate, the Legion "Freedom of Russia," infiltrated the enemy's rear in Kharkiv region, where it destroyed an ammunition depot and the Russians themselves. Details of the December operation shared in the GUR.
The legionnaires were able to covertly penetrate more than seven kilometers into the enemy's lines, where they discovered a field ammunition depot. It was successfully destroyed along with the personnel guarding it. There were no casualties among the unit's fighters, the intelligence noted.
The destroyed facility played an important role in supplying the Russians and rotating their units in the Kupiansk area and directly affected their tactical stability.
Prior to that, the legionnaires disrupted the Russian logistics route in the Zaporizhzhia sector, which was used to supply metal for the military infrastructure of the temporarily occupied Crimea. They also destroyed a Russian warehouse and drone control points in the Pokrovske direction, eliminating UAV operators and controls that facilitated reconnaissance and fire adjustment.
The DIU noted that the sabotage and reconnaissance groups of the Russian Freedom Legion are consistently increasing the intensity of actions deep in the enemy's rear – from point attacks to systemic pressure on the logistics, command and control, and support elements of the occupation forces.
"The Legion's priority remains unchanged – disorganization of command and control systems, disruption of logistics and reduction of the enemy's combat capabilities before it reaches the front line," the intelligence emphasized.
- january 7, intelligence went behind enemy lines near the Kakhovka reservoir. As a result of the special operation, Russians were captured and killed.
