A soldier from Lviv region, who had been "buried", returns from captivity

During the exchange of prisoners on Thursday, February 5, a soldier from Lviv region, Nazar Daletsky, who had been considered dead for more than three years, returned from Russian captivity. About this reported head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration Maksym Kozytskyi.

We are talking about a resident of Velykyi Doroshiv village of Kulykivka community. He is a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation, and after the start of the full-scale invasion, he rejoined the army.

The man served in the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In May 2022, he stopped communicating. At first, Daletskyi was reported missing.

Later, the family was informed that he died in the Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region on September 25, 2022, his birthday.

In July 2025, another Ukrainian soldier who was released from captivity reported that Daletskyi was alive. In August, this information was confirmed by another soldier. In October, it was confirmed by a third.

The group of the Velykodoroshiv starosta district also reported about the release of his fellow countryman from captivity.

"The one we mourned. The one who was sent off on his last journey. But life turned out to be stronger than pain, than fear, than the darkest predictions. This is the case when faith conquers reality, when the heart screams with joy and does not know how to contain these emotions," wrote Oksana Kukhar, administrator of the group of the Velykodoroshiv Starosta District.

In the same group, there are posts from September 25, 2023, with footage of the funeral. The video shows that the funeral is held with military honors, accompanied by an orchestra, and the coffin is covered with a national flag.
