Over 2000 reports of "mining" received in Ukraine per day
on January 30, law enforcement agencies across Ukraine received a number of reports of "mining" of a number of government agencies, educational institutions, and businesses in Kyiv, told in the National Police. The police noted that starting from 09:30, mass notifications about the replacement of their buildings began to be sent to the email addresses of state authorities, local governments, educational institutions, enterprises, institutions and organizations, banking institutions, entertainment venues and other facilities.
As of 12:10 a.m., police units received more than 2,000 reports of bomb threats in the following regions: Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipropetrovs'k, Donetsk, Zakarpattia, Zaporizhzhia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Kyiv city, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Kharkiv, Khmelnytsky, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv.
Almost 30% of the reports have already been processed. At these facilities, the information was not confirmed. Other facilities are being checked, law enforcement officials added.
"We would like to note that such messages are often another information attack by the enemy, but despite this, each address is carefully checked by police units. Explosive experts and cynologists are involved in the check," it says kyiv police said in a statement.
In a letter received by the editorial board LIGA.netthe sender identified himself as a "former Kraken bomber" and stated that he had allegedly planted 500 explosive devices in administrative buildings, educational institutions and crowded places. Also, a number of companies and a hotel were allegedly mined, "helping to steal money from the Ukrainian Armed Forces."
On the "mining" of lyceums 1, 5, 7, 9 and 10 said ihor Sapozhko, mayor of Brovary, Kyiv region. He added that law enforcement and relevant services are working on the ground and conducting inspections.
The Ivano-Frankivsk edition of Galka.if.ua, citing the spokeswoman for the Ivano-Frankivsk regional patrol police, Khrystyna Myhlyid reported about the possible mining of educational institutions, including the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas, Vocational School No. 31, and a number of lyceums and colleges.
A wave of reports of "mining" was also recorded in Volyn. Suspilne.Lutsk, citing Svyatoslav Babychuk, head of the emergency department of the Novovolynsk City Council notedreported that eight objects in the city were allegedly "mined", including educational institutions and the executive committee of the city council.
Reports were received in Kovel, Volodymyr, Novovolynsk and Blahodatne. In particular, employees of the Kovel City Council were evacuated, and in Volodymyr, there were reports of "mining" of schools, kindergartens and administrative buildings, and bomb squads continue to work.
Service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Volyn region told about the temporary suspension of work in Strumivka, Kovel, Kamen-Kashyrskyi and Novovolynsk due to "mining".
