Russian Federation hits substation in Volyn and damages Ukrzaliznytsia's infrastructure near the border
Russia struck a high-voltage substation in Volyn region, leaving tens of thousands of homes without electricity. The occupiers also shelled railroad infrastructure, hit Chernihiv region, killing a man, and wounded civilians in Dnipropetrovs'k region.
The mayor of Novovolynsk, Borys Karpus, , told that the new strike caused significant damage and that the substation is out of service. As of the morning of February 9, more than 80,000 subscribers from the Novovolynsk community and nearby settlements were without power.
Ukrzaliznytsia reported about new attacks on railway infrastructure in Sumy and Chernihiv regions – a locomotive and a contact network were damaged. Trains Sumy-Kyiv and Sumy-Kharkiv may be delayed, operational changes are also possible in regional and suburban traffic.
In the Kharkiv region, the Lozova-Barvinkove-Kramatorsk section remains a high-risk area, so buses are being used to detour.
The security situation in Zaporizhzhia region is being closely monitored – depending on the situation, trains may be missed and bus transfers may be used.
The Chernihiv Regional Military Administration reported on a nighttime attack by Geranium drones on Novhorod-Siverskyi. The attack claimed the life of a 71-year-old man. Preliminary, four people were injured – two men and two elderly women .

Dnipropetrovs'k OVA reported to that nine people were injured in a UAV attack in Shakhtarske, Synelnyk district, including a 13-year-old girl. All the wounded were taken to hospital. a 57-year-old woman is in serious condition. The rest are in moderate condition.
A three-story building caught fire, and the roof and ceilings were damaged. Windows in another apartment building were smashed. A garage was on fire.
The aggressor also used a drone to hit the Vasylkiv community. A fire broke out, three private houses were damaged.
The Air Force reported that Russia attacked with 11 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 149 drones, about 90 of which were Shahids, overnight.
116 drones were shot down/suppressed, some missiles were also intercepted and did not reach their targets. Missiles and 23 attack drones were recorded hitting 15 locations, and downed drones (debris) were recorded at six locations.
