Prime Minister of Italy George Maloney criticized people who protested during the Winter Olympics. Related post she posted on Facebook.

The Prime Minister said that thousands of Italians are working hard these days to ensure the smooth running of the Olympic Games. Many are doing this as volunteers because they want their country to make a good impression, to be admired and respected.

"And then there are them: the enemies of Italy and Italians who are organizing demonstrations against the Olympic Games, broadcasting this footage on television around the world," Meloni added.

The official mentioned that there are also those who cut railroad cables so that trains could not depart.

"Once again, we express our solidarity with the police, the city of Milan and all those whose work will be undermined by these gangs of criminals," she concluded.

On February 7, Milan, which these days hosts the Olympics the area was engulfed in protests. A group of about 100 protesters threw firecrackers, smoke bombs and bottles at the police. The police responded with water cannons.
