Bribes for voting: court sets bail for suspects

The court granted bail to five MPs suspected of taking bribes for voting in parliament. About reports Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.
The HACC investigating judge, at the request of the prosecution, imposed bail on 5 MPs suspected of systematically obtaining undue benefits for themselves and third parties for committing and failing to commit acts using their power or position.
According to the SAPO, two suspects were granted bail in the amount of UAH 40 million and UAH 30 million, two more – UAH 20 million, and the third deputy – UAH 16.6 million.
They are also now required to hand over their passports and wear electronic bracelets.
- Earlier on December 27, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau announced on suspicions of receiving bribes for voting in the Verkhovna Rada for MPs from Servants of the people Yevhen Pyvovarov, Ihor Negulevskyi and Yuriy Kisel. MPs Mykhailo Laba and Olha Savchenko also received suspicions.
- On the same day, NABU and SAPO stated that during the undercover operation exposed a criminal group that included current MPs. According to the investigation, members of the group systematically received illegal benefits for voting in the Verkhovna Rada.
