Germany has few Patriot air defense systems left to provide to Ukraine. This was stated by the country's Defense Minister Boris Pistorius in an interview with the Financial Times.

He noted that Germany had 12 of these "critical" systems, of which three have already been provided to Kyiv, two more to Poland, and one is constantly undergoing maintenance or involved in training.

"We have only six left in Germany. This is really not enough, especially considering NATO's goals for the capabilities we have to achieve. We definitely cannot give more," the minister said .

According to Pistorius, he will discuss with his American counterpart Pete Hagseth the proposal he made in June to buy two Patriot systems for Ukraine from the United States. Before that, the readiness to buy these systems was expressed by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.

Pistorius also reiterated that Germany will not provide Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles. According to him, this decision was made despite Russia's massive attacks and a new request from Kyiv.
