In the first month of 2026, Russian losses were almost a third higher than the replenishment of the occupiers' army. This is evidenced by the data, published commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi.

According to him, in January, the total losses of the Russian Federation amounted to 31,700 people, which is 9,000 more than the invaders recruited for the same month.

"This trend should be continued and strengthened," the military commander said.

Earlier, on February 7, he reported that in January, Ukrainian unmanned units alone neutralized nearly 29,700 occupants, more than the 22,000 people Russia was able to recruit at the time.

According to the results of December 2025, Syrskyi stated that Russia's losses amounted to more than 33,000 occupants – It was the first time the military neutralized about as many Russians as Moscow mobilized in a month.

In the new message, the chief of the AFU also cited the following results of the Defense Forces for the first month of the year:

→ the defenders completed 48 deepstrike missions against the Russian oil and gas industry with long-range weapons – the total oil refining in the aggressor country was reduced by 19%, or 53.4 million tons per year;

→ Ukrainian Air Force conducted 80 air strikes;

→ the military has carried out more than 300,000 special missions with the help of attack drones;

→ due to attacks on airfields, the occupiers reduced the use of guided bombs by 5%;

→ with regard to air defense, despite shortage of munitions, Ukrainian defenders destroyed 21,700 Russian air targets and 21,600 drones of various types.
