There were no targeted missile and "Shahed" attacks on the energy sector during the day – Zelenskyy
During the day, there were no targeted attacks by Russian missiles and "shaheds" on energy infrastructure, but there was shelling of such facilities in frontline communities. About this reported president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy based on the results of the selector on the situation in Ukraine.
According to the Head of State, as of February 2, repair crews have fully restored the state of the power system that existed before the technological accident on Saturday, January 31. The system has been stabilized, but due to the cold weather and the consequences of Russian strikes, all challenges remain difficult.
"Over the past day, there were new Russian attacks on energy facilities in frontline and border communities, but there were no targeted attacks by Russian missiles and "Shahed" on energy infrastructure," the president emphasized.
He added that the Russian army has concentrated its attacks on Ukrainian logistics, particularly the railroad.
Earlier in the day, the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, Andriy Kovalenko, claimed he said that Russia has resumed its attacks on the energy sector. According to him, new blackouts have been reported in the Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipro and Cherkasy regions.
First Deputy Minister of Energy Artem Nekrasov at the briefing on February 2, he also confirmed the strikes.
"As a result of the enemy's attacks on the country's energy infrastructure, consumers in Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnipro and Cherkasy regions are without power in the morning," he said.
Nekrasov added that restoration work is underway at energy facilities that were damaged in previous Russian attacks.
