Zelensky on his similarities with Trump: We were elected by the people and we share the same values

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about his similarities with US President Donald Trump in an interview with the New York Post. According to him, both share the same values.

"First of all, we are the choice of our people... Despite the distance, there is no difference between values and approaches to life. We have different identities, different customs, different character traits, different countries. But I think we have the same values," Zelensky said .

According to the president, his way of thinking and problem solving is similar to that of his American counterpart. In addition, he tries to be as energetic as possible and believes that one should not give up and win.

"I think President Trump understands these things and signals... I am such a person, and it was absolutely clear [after Russia's invasion] that we will not go anywhere, no one will go. We will take the fight and stand to the end," the Ukrainian leader emphasized .

Zelenskyy noted that he has business experience, just like Trump, so he learned to "make decisions very quickly.".

"Sometimes you have to take a hit. It's also very important to always be on your feet. I think this business experience is absolutely clear to President Trump, and it's also absolutely clear to me," he said .

• After a conversation with his American counterpart, Zelenskyy said that Trump expressed a desire to buy Ukrainian drones. In response, he said that Ukraine wants American air defense.
• The president also said that Trump is aware of Putin's lies to him and he saw it himself, not heard it from someone else. And this, according to Zelensky, is important.
