Zelenskyy announced new contracts for the Armed Forces

According to him, the new contracts will be for one, two, three and five years of service.
Details on this are promised to be announced later.
"There are good signals about raising salaries for military personnel," the head of state also said.
To answer a clarifying question LIGA.net asked whether this increase would apply to those citizens who sign a contract with the AFU now and those who are already serving in the Armed Forces, the president replied that it was an effort to keep people in the army after the ceasefire or the end of the war.
Regarding the increase in salaries for current servicemen, Zelenskyy noted that the budget for 2026 is UAH 2.8 trillion, and "we would like to give the military the maximum."
UPDATED at 9:45 p.m. "The main innovation [of future contracts] is guaranteed clear terms of service. Contracts will be for one to five years. For contracts of two to five years, there will be a one-year deferral from mobilization upon completion of the contract," said defense minister Denys Shmyhal.
According to him, after the amendments to the legislation are adopted, all defenders, both those already serving and those who will join the army in the future, will be able to sign contracts.
"We are responding to a key request from the military, their families, and society. The new contracts are about fairness and predictability," the official explained.
He added that the MoD is working with the government, the Ministry of Finance, and partners and will announce all additional details "in the near future."
- At the end of October, the program "Contract 18-24" expanded to all combat units of the Defense Forces.
