Forest: A "four-star" training ground for students has been created
In one of the regions of Ukraine, a training ground has already been created for students to undergo basic general military training (BGMT), which can be equated to a "four-star hotel". This was reported to by Minister of Education Oksen Lisovyi in an interview with Radio Charter.
He did not name the region in question, but noted that it was safe enough. This training ground is already in operation and ready to accept young people from all over Ukraine, not just his region.
"These are good conditions, let's say, for a four-star hostel. In order not to frighten young people with some harsh conditions at once, but on the contrary, to gradually immerse them in the kind of hobo style in which we lived a little during the fighting," the minister said .
According to him, in several other regions, appropriate training grounds for students have already been created.
Lisovyi noted that while university studies are conducted in a remote format for security reasons, military training should preferably be conducted in person. And for this purpose, bases that are already being created in relatively safe regions can be used.
- on July 1, Chief Syrsky announced that the period of the basic military training would be increased from 49 days to 51 days. The added days are intended to teach how to counter enemy attack drones.
- On July 4, the General Staff said that recruits are taught to shoot down FPV drones with a shotgun. Pump-action rifle training "will be done by everyone at the PST".
