The World Taekwondo Federation has allowed athletes from Russia and Belarus to compete under their own national flags. This is stated in the message the federations were formed following a meeting of the World Council of the sport held on January 31 in Fujairah (United Arab Emirates).

The decision applies to both junior and adult athletes. The decision was made after the International Olympic Committee allowed Russian and Belarusian youth athletes to participate in the 2024 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar under their national flags.

At the same time, the World Taekwondo Federation left in place the previously imposed restrictions. In particular, international taekwondo competitions cannot be held in Russia, and representatives of the governments of Russia and Belarus will not be accredited for international tournaments.
