Two soldiers were killed in a military helicopter crash in South Korea on Monday, February 9. This was reported by the agency Yonhap.

An AH-1S Cobra helicopter of the 15th South Korean Army Aviation Group crashed at 11:04 a.m. about 55 kilometers northeast of Seoul.

The two soldiers on board were hospitalized in cardiac arrest and could not be saved.

Authorities reported that the incident was not accompanied by fires or explosions. Experts are currently establishing the exact cause of the crash. The accident occurred during a training flight aimed at familiarizing the crew with emergency landing procedures.

The army suspended all AH-1S helicopter flights and set up a special investigative commission to determine the exact cause of the crash.

South Korea's Defense Ministry said that the head of the department, Ahn Kyu-bak, who is on a visit to Saudi Arabia, was informed of the accident and called for quick follow-up.
