Iran announces victory over Israel
Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) said that the country's decisive actions forced the "Zionist regime" of Israel to retreat and stop the offensive. Government declares victory, reports Tehran Times.
"In recognition of the deep awareness and wise behavior of the Iranian nation, and thanks to the strategic leadership of the Leader and the sacrifices of the nation's dedicated fighters, divine assistance has manifested itself in the form of victory and deterrence. The enemy had no choice but to retreat, express regret and unilaterally cease its aggression," the statement said .
The Iranian military allegedly responded "resolutely and courageously" to every act of Israeli hostility. This includes a "powerful missile strike" on the US military base in Qatar and attacks on positions in the "occupied Palestinian territories".
The NSDC emphasized that the unity of the Iranian nation, together with the army's combat capability, neutralized the enemy's strategy and provided a quick and powerful response.
"Over the course of 12 days, Iran's defense forces have utilized their full potential, developed over years of innovation, dedication and strategic planning, to launch timely and proportionate strikes against any hostile actions," the statement said .
The authorities warned that the army remains on full combat alert despite the ceasefire, as it does not trust the promises of "hostile states." Iran remains ready to give a "swift and regrettable response" to any act of aggression.
