National Security Bureau (BNB) of Poland published tentative maps of violations of the country's airspace by drones and balloons from Belarus and Russia. The provocations are expected to continue in 2026.

According to the BNB, the events of the last months of 2025 show that Moscow and Minsk have intensified provocations in the airspace and "permanently included them in the catalog" of actions against Poland and other NATO countries.

The first map depicts incidents involving drones or balloons, including intrusions into sovereign airspace or violations of Poland's own no-fly zones. The second one shows similar incidents in allied countries for the period from September to December 31, 2025.

In many cases, services have observed suspicious or dangerous drone activity near airports or military bases. This includes over countries far to the west of NATO's eastern flank.

"In 2026, provocations in the airspace are expected to recur," the National Security Bureau noted.

Therefore, next year, Poland's capabilities to ensure the security of its airspace, critical infrastructure, and military facilities should be strengthened. However, the Bureau emphasized that strengthening cannot be achieved by increasing Poland's defense capabilities in other areas.

According to the first map, 16 incidents involving Russian or Belarusian drones and balloons were recorded in Poland. The second map shows incidents in Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, France, and Lithuania.
