The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Commander of the Navy, thwarted a Russian air strike on units engaged in maritime drones. A military man who turned out to be a Russian informant was detained, reported in the SBU.

As the investigation established, a serviceman of the Navy's unmanned special-purpose complexes brigade was to transfer to Russia the geolocation of the military's base points that control maritime drones, their storage coordinates and routes. Among the targets were Sea Baby and Magura drones, which are successfully used for attacks by the ISR and military intelligence.

The SBU acted proactively, exposing the informant in advance, documenting his crimes and detaining him as he was preparing the coordinates for an enemy missile attack. Simultaneously, measures were taken to protect the Defense Forces in the area of enemy reconnaissance activity.

According to the case, the military man came to the attention of Russian special services through his friends, to whom he told the details of his work. One of these acquaintances was used by the Russians as a "contact" to obtain classified information about the military. During the searches, the phone where he stored classified information and through which he contacted his "friend" was seized.

The man has already been notified of suspicion of unauthorized dissemination of information about the deployment of the Defense Forces. The issue of additional qualification of his actions is being considered. The detainee is currently in custody, and an investigation is underway to bring all perpetrators to justice.
