The death toll in Kyiv has risen as a result of a nighttime Russian drone and ballistic missile attack. Rescuers are working on the ground, reported in the State Emergency Service.

As of 08:40, six people have already been reported dead in the Shevchenkivskyi district, where several floors of a five-story building have been destroyed. Emergency response operations are underway at two locations at once. 312 rescuers and 74 vehicles are involved .

Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko said, that the blast wave also damaged apartments in a 25-story residential building opposite. Ten people were rescued from the building, including a child and a pregnant woman.

A total of 19 people were injured in the city, eight of them are hospitalized in city hospitals.

The Office of the Prosecutor General reported, that a pre-trial investigation into the war crime that caused the deaths of people has been launched due to the attack on the capital.

UPDATED AT 10:17 a.m.. The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Timur Tkachenko , said, that the number of injured has risen to 25, including four children. Eight injured in Solomyansky district, 17 in Shevchenkivsky district.

As of 11:00, the number of victims has increased to 31 people. Three more people may be under the rubble of a house in Shevchenkivskyi district.
