WP: Trump did not dive into details of US 'peace plan'
President of the United States Donald Trump was not involved in the details 28-point "peace plan" his administration to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian war. This was written by The Washington Post with reference to an unnamed American official.
"You tell him (Trump – Ed.): 'I'll try to make a deal'. He replies: "Great, go see what you can do." And that's the level of detail he has," the source told WP.
According to him, "absolute chaos" reigned in the US presidential administration "all day long" because even different parts of the White House did not know what was going on.
An unnamed European official said that on Friday, November 21, Washington seemed to be "almost caught off guard by all of this."
An anonymous WP source with knowledge of the negotiations claims that the Trump administration "is not treating this plan as a done deal."
"Ukrainians were informed that there is some room for negotiations," the source said.
However, Washington has also "made it clear that it wants a deal soon," and "the threat of suspending US aid is extremely serious," the official said.
- Rubio positively assessed talks with the Ukrainian delegation in Switzerland. He said the parties had made "significant progress" and called it "the best day in all 10 months of our work on these issues."
- After talks in Geneva, Ukraine and the United States agreed to updated framework document regarding the peace plan, the final decisions will be made by the presidents.
