The man who killed two people in Sofiivska Borshchahivka on Thursday has been remanded in custody, the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office reported.

A 63-year-old resident of the Kyiv region has been reported on suspicion of the intentional murder of two people, as well as the acquisition and storage of firearms and ammunition without a permit required by law.

He was remanded in custody without bail.

The National Police clarified that during the search, a machine gun, over 300 5.45 mm caliber cartridges, an F-1 grenade, and a unified remote-action UZRGM fuse were found on the man.

According to the investigation, on May 8, in the village of Sofiivska Borshchahivka, Buchansky district, a conflict arose between the suspect and two neighbors , as a result of which he fired shots from a firearm and killed two people. The victims were a serviceman and his mother-in-law.
