On Friday, February 6, a terrorist attack on a Shiite Muslim mosque took place in the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, leaving dozens dead and wounded. This was reported by the agency Reuters.
A suicide bomber killed at least 31 people and injured nearly 170 others. This is the deadliest attack of its kind in the Pakistani capital in more than 10 years.
Images from the scene show bloody bodies lying on the carpeted floor of the mosque, surrounded by shards of glass and debris.
Two police officers said the attacker was stopped at the mosque gate before he detonated the bomb. They asked not to be identified as they were not authorized to speak to the media.

"A total of 31 people were killed. The number of wounded taken to hospitals has risen to 169," said Irfan Memon, Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
