Belarus and Russia announce another joint nuclear development

Russian specialists are working on developments that will allow equipping the Polonez tactical missile system with a nuclear warhead. This was stated by the chairman of the National Security Commission of the Belarusian House of Representatives, Gennady Lepeshko, in a commentary to pro-Russian propagandists.
According to him, during the joint exercise "West" the parties allegedly already practiced algorithms for the use of nuclear weapons. It is about improving aircraft and missile platforms, which are considered potential carriers of nuclear warheads.
In particular, the possibility of using nuclear weapons directly from the Polonez missile system is being discussed.
As the publication clarifies Militarny, Polonez is a Belarusian adaptation of the Chinese GATSS multifunctional missile system mounted on the MZKT-7930 chassis. The system was first demonstrated in 2015, and adopted in 2016. The system is capable of firing missiles with a range of up to 300 kilometers and is equipped with a GPS-corrected inertial guidance system.
