London will not hand over its aircraft to Kyiv after the Ukrainians expressed their desire to use the F-16, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's spokesman has said, Reuters reported on Monday.

Asked whether Britain would send fighter jets to Ukraine, he said no.

"We do not plan to do this. The Ukrainians made the decision to train their pilots on F-16s and you will know the RAF don't use those," explained the British Prime Minister's press secretary.

In January 2023, Sunak's spokesman said that handing over British Typhoon and F-35 fighter jets to Kyiv "is not practical" because they are "extremely complex and take months to learn to fly."

On Monday, Britain announced that it would start training Ukrainian combat pilots in the summer.

On the same day, information appeared that London would provide Kyiv with attack drones with a range of over 200 km as part of its military aid.
