President Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised the two-day talks between Ukraine, Russia, and the United States in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, and announced that the next meetings could take place in the next week. He published the following message in social networks.

"There was a report from our delegation: the meetings in the Emirates are over. And this is the first such format in quite some time – two-day trilateral meetings. We managed to discuss a lot, and it is important that the conversations were constructive", the head of state said.

The president said that the negotiations were held with the participation of the military of the three countries,and that they were joined, in particular, by the chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Hnatov and representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine lieutenant general Vadym Skibitskyi (list of delegation members read here).

Other details of the negotiations from Zelenskyy:

the main topic on which the discussion focused was the possible parameters for ending the Russian war;

→ the president noted that "there is an awareness" of the need for the United States to monitor and control the process of ending the war and "maintaining real security."

→ the United States raised the issue of potential formats for how the conditions for ending the war will be approved, as well as the security circumstances required for this.

"As a result of the meetings these days, all parties agreed to report in their capitals on each aspect of the negotiations and to agree with the leaders on further steps. The military has identified a list of issues for a possible next meeting," said the head of Ukrainian.

He added that if there is a willingness to move forward, further meetings will be held, possibly as early as next week (between January 26 and February 1 – Ed.). The president emphasized that Ukraine is ready for this.

Zelenskyy added that he expects a personal report from the delegation upon its return.
