Reuters: US deploys another destroyer amid Iran tensions

The United States Navy has sent an additional warship to the Middle East amid a significant build-up of the US military presence in the region and a sharp rise in tensions with Iran, writes Reuters, citing an unnamed U.S. official.
According to him, the missile destroyer USS Delbert D. Black has entered the Middle East over the past 48 hours. In particular, this vessel is capable of launching long-range Tomahawk cruise missiles.
With this ship, the number of US destroyers in the region has increased to six, along with the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and three littoral combat vessels.
Axios Media, on January 26, indicated that in addition to the carrier group, the United States has sent more F-15 and F-35 fighters and refueling aircraft to the Middle East, as well as additional air defense systems.
On January 28, US president Donald Trump called on Tehran to conclude a nuclear deal, threatening to launch a new attack on the Islamic Republic, which would be "much worse" than the previous one.
- The Reuters sources said that the US president is considering a new strike on Iran to revive the protests and contribute to the overthrow of the current regime.
- Axios interlocutors said that the Trump administration is taking senior defense and intelligence officials of Israel and Saudi Arabia for negotiations on Iran.
