Top 3 donors of military assistance to Ukraine under the PURL initiative named

Norway, the Netherlands and Germany provide Ukraine with the most assistance under PURL, an initiative to supply Ukraine with American-made ammunition and equipment. This was announced during an online briefing by US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker, reports Suspilne .

He noted that in the six months since the launch of the PURL, allies have committed to purchase more than $4.5 billion worth of U.S. weapons.

"Norway, the Netherlands and Germany have not only made significant contributions, but have actively encouraged others to follow suit. I want to thank them for their leadership in this initiative and call on all Allies to step up," said the U.S. Ambassador to NATO .

Twenty-one NATO member states and two partners, Australia and New Zealand, have publicly expressed support for the initiative.

Whitaker added that new commitments under the PURL program will be announced at a NATO ministerial meeting on February 12.

According to him, the program allows allies to take financial responsibility for long-term security assistance to Ukraine and use American technology.
