Two foreigners and a citizen of Ukraine who fought against Ukraine in the Wagner terrorist group have been detained and served with a notice of suspicion. About this reported Office of the Prosecutor General.

Two Moldovan citizens were notified of being suspected of mercenarism. The investigation found that after recruitment, financing and training, the foreigners were armed and sent to the front. Their participation in the fighting in the Bakhmut district of Donetsk region was recorded.

The Ukrainian was suspected of high treason. During martial law, he voluntarily joined the Wagner terrorist group and fought against Ukraine in the Donetsk region.

The issue of choosing a measure of restraint for the suspects is currently being decided.

"Not a single fact of participation in the armed aggression against Ukraine will be left without a proper legal assessment. Law enforcement agencies continue systematic work on documenting crimes committed by mercenaries and traitors in order to bring the perpetrators to justice in accordance with the law," the PGO noted.
