Zelenskyy: Preliminary, a new meeting with Russia and the United States will be held on February 1

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that a new meeting between Ukraine, Russia and the United States could take place as early as February 1. The head of state said this in his evening address.
The president informed that on January 26, the Ukrainian delegation had made a full report on the recent negotiations in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
At the January 23-24 meetings, the parties were able to discuss "various issues of a more military nature" regarding steps to end the war and genuine control and monitoring of it, Zelenskyy said.
"There are issues to be prepared for the next meeting. Previously, we said that the teams would meet again on Sunday. It will be good if we can speed up this meeting. Ukraine will be as prepared as possible for all the things to be discussed and agreed upon," the head of state said.
He added that Ukraine "has always been and will be on the side of peace," noting that the war is still going on only because of Russia.
According to the president, real results of diplomatic work are needed to avoid the feeling that the occupiers are using the negotiation process to postpone new measures of pressure against them.
"It is the pressure and its consequences – the result of sanctions, the result of blocking Russian operations – that work to stop the war. It is important that our partners do not forget about this," Zelenskyy summarized.
- The head of state also informed that in Abu Dhabi, in particular, complex political issues had been discussed, which remain unresolved.
- Earlier, the deputy head of the Foreign Intelligence Service said that the Russian leadership was not ready for real negotiations on peace and was stalling for time.
