The Cabinet of Ministers appoints new members of the supervisory board of the state-owned company Energoatom, said prime minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

The new supervisory board consists of seven members. Rumina Velshi, Laura Garbenciute-Bakiene, Patrick Fragman and Brice Bouillon have been appointed as independent members (for more information on their experience, read here).

The state is represented by three officials: deputy minister of Economy Vitaliy Kindrativ, head of the State Agency for Infrastructure Recovery and Development Serhiy Sukhomlin, and state secretary of the Ministry of Energy Maksym Malashkin.

Svyrydenko said that at her first meeting with the supervisory board, she set a task to "urgently appoint" a new Energoatom board.

For the period necessary for this, the government has instructed to replace the company's interim management. Since August 2025, the interim CEO of Energoatom has been Pavlo Kovtonyuk.

"The new supervisory board should also conduct a full analysis of the company's previous activities: contracts, procurement and auctions for the sale of electricity, taking into account information from law enforcement agencies, the media and MPs," the PM added.

Powers of the previous supervisory board of Energoatom Cabinet of Ministers terminated on November 11, the day after the announcement by anti-corruption authorities of the exposure of large-scale corruption in the energy sector. One of the suspects in this case is Timur Mindich, former business partner and friend of the president Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
