Snow and ice affect not only the advancement of infantry at the front, but also drones, making their use more difficult for both the enemy and the Defense Forces. Viktor Tregubov, Head of the Communications Department of the Joint Forces Group, told about this during the telethon.

When it comes to extremely low temperatures, the so-called "reaper drones" – fiber optic drones that lie along roads and wait for the right moment to explode – become less effective. Fiber optics lying on the cold ground simply freeze.

There are also nuances when it comes to a sharp change in temperature from positive to negative during the day. Drones' blades freeze.

"Ice accumulates on them, as it does on everything that lies in the open. Ice appears directly on their blades, and this is not good for taking off at all," Tregubov said.

  • on January 28, paratroopers reported that the situation around Dronivka is getting more complicated as Russia is amassing forces in Serebryansky Forest and Siversk.
  • According to the American Research Center, Russia "sluggishly" progressing at the front: from 15 to 70 meters per day.
