The publication by the US Department of Justice of materials containing documents, photos and videos related to the case of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein will have an impact on entire political clans and world elites, the former foreign minister believes Pavlo Klimkin. This is his opinion expressed LIGA.net for the YouTube project Klimkin Explains.

The diplomat mentioned that the US President Donald Trump threatened legal consequences to the Grammy host who joked about Epstein's island. According to Klimkin, this demonstrates the depth of the American president's emotions and his unwillingness to dive into this story.

"But he is definitely already in this story. Like Munchausen, you can't drag yourself out by your hair. Whatever the case, there are no super critical things about Trump in what has been made public. There is nothing that will discredit him completely," the former foreign minister said.

He added that the release of the largest package of files has already led to an "endless number" of scandals and resignations, but "this is just the beginning."

Klimkin mentions the resignation of one of the advisors to the Slovak Prime Minister Roberta Fico Mirosław Łajczak, who, as it turned out, was actively corresponding with Epstein.

"But in reality, it will affect many, many people. It will affect entire political clans," the diplomat said, citing the example of the Clintons, who refused to testify before Congress.

In his opinion, the key elites that have determined the development of the world over the past 20-25 years are now under a fierce attack that has not been seen in recent years.

"Many of them will fly away, many will finally lose confidence. And, in my opinion, the main result of this publication will be the loss of trust by any elites. Whether it's state elites, classical political elites, monarchies, or some part of business elites," Klimkin said.

He added that this also means that those involved in decision-making, both confidential and direct, are likely to be "buried" or step down.
