Ukraine's future new ambassador to the United States will have a hard time getting along with President Donald Trump because of his complex personality. However, the candidacy of Rustem Umerov may have already been approved by him. This opinion was expressed by in an interview with LIGA.net MP from Voice Roman Kostenko.

He noted that, as a rule, before announcing a new candidate, the parties first agree on it. And he did not rule out that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has already agreed on Umerov with Trump.

"It's a very bad story when you appoint your own ambassador, it's your decision as president, and another country says, 'No, we don't need one: "No, we don't need someone like that."... If we have already announced it and they say: "We don't need your defense minister," then this is a story that is a little bit wrong. At least it will be very interesting," Kostenko says .

The MP noted that the new ambassador will also have to re-establish all contacts among politicians in the United States and try to get up to speed quickly. After all, Ukraine does not have time to wait and every day counts, and it is necessary to work effectively.

"Trump has a difficult personality, so it will be difficult to find a common language with him, and we will have to work hard," the MP said .

Former Foreign Minister Klimkin, in a commentary to LIGA.net , called Umerov "the strongest candidate" for the post of ambassador to the United States.
