"Some interesting things" were discussed with NATO Deputy Secretary General Mircea Geoană regarding Ukraine's preparations for the Alliance summit in Vilnius, Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said on the sidelines of the First Black Sea Security Conference in Bucharest, news agency Ukrinform reports.

"We also talked about some interesting things regarding the preparation of Ukraine for the summit in Vilnius, which we are waiting for. We outlined a work plan and agreed that my next meeting with Mr. Jens Stoltenberg will take place literally soon on the fields of Ramstein," said Reznikov.

According to him, the meeting was of a working nature, and "various details" were discussed and the "necessary exchange of views" was carried out.

Reznikov added that Ukraine is preparing for the NATO summit in Vilnius and hopes to receive "maximum positives and advantages" from it.

On March 1, Stoltenberg invited Zelenskyy to participate in the Alliance summit, which will be held in Vilnius.

According to Euractiv, the NATO summit in Vilnius may announce a rapprochement of relations and support for Ukraine, but will leave demands for reforms. Such a position is supposed to suit both the members of the Alliance and Ukraine.

On April 6, the Financial Times, citing sources, reported that the United States, Germany and Hungary are resisting attempts by some European allies to offer Ukraine a "road map" to NATO membership at the Alliance's July summit in Vilnius.
