President Volodymyr Zelenskyy received in Kyiv the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, who arrived on a visit to Ukraine. The President called it "an important signal of cooperation and support between our states", reports the press service of the President's Office.

The visit of Bahrain's top diplomat to Ukraine is the first since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries in July 1992.

"This is an important signal of cooperation and support between our states," Zelenskyy said.

He thanked the Kingdom of Bahrain for its constant support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine against the background of full-scale Russian aggression, which was repeatedly evidenced during the voting for the relevant resolutions of the UN General Assembly.

According to the president, humanitarian aid from Bahrain is also very important for Ukraine and its citizens.

Zelenskyy invited Bahrain to join the implementation of certain points of the Ukrainian peace formula and to participate in the future Peace Summit.

The Ukrainian leader drew the special attention of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain to the problem of the forced deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia and the search for ways to return them to their homeland.

The parties also exchanged views on Bahrain's participation in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine, and assistance in the demining of Ukrainian territory contaminated as a result of hostilities.
