SBU: Kyiv resident, who "leaked" air defense work, is suspected. He faces up to eight years in prison

Security Service of Ukraine said about the detention of a Kyiv resident who posted on social media footage of Ukrainian air defense during the shelling of the capital.
According to the investigation, the resident of the capital "leaked" videos on social networks showing the work of air defense systems.
Living on the top floor of an apartment building, the man was recording the location of Ukrainian air defense systems that were targeting Russian air targets.
He then posted the footage in a group chat on Telegram and on his company's Instagram page, which has more than 13,000 followers.
In this way, the enemy could use the "highlighted" geolocations of the Defense Forces to prepare new attacks on Kyiv. The examination confirmed the facts of illegal activity, the SBU said.
During the searches, a smartphone with evidence of filming and dissemination of defense information was found on the Kyiv resident.
The man was served a notice of suspicion under the article on unauthorized dissemination of information about the deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations committed under martial law. He faces up to eight years in prison.
The SBU reminded of the ban on filming and publishing video and photo materials about the activities of the Defense Forces and the consequences of Russian shelling. The dissemination of such information is considered to be an adjustment of enemy fire and is a crime.
- On January 2, 2024, the SBU announced that it had blocked webcams broadcasting air defense operations during the missile attack in Russia's attack on Kyiv. The case concerns two surveillance cameras that were allegedly hacked by Russian special services to spy on the Defense Forces.
