President of the United States Donald Trump said that in order to capture the Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro the new secret weapon, the Discombobulator, was crucial. The American leader told about it in an interview with the New York Post tabloid.

According to Trump, these weapons "made [enemy] equipment not work" when U.S. helicopters flew into Caracas, the Venezuelan capital, on January 3 to arrest Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, without losing a single American military life.

"The Discombobulator. I’m not allowed to talk about it... I would love to," the US president said.

He noted that during the US operation, Venezuela failed to use Russian and Chinese missiles: "We came in, they pressed buttons and nothing worked."

Not much is known about these weapons, but there have been reports from Venezuela describing Maduro's bodyguards falling to their knees with nosebleeds and vomiting blood, NYP points out.

One of the guards said that "suddenly all our radar systems shut down without any explanation."

"The next thing we saw were drones, a lot of drones, flying over our positions. We didn’t know how to react," he said, adding that only eight helicopters then appeared, bringing in about 20 U.S. troops.

The witness said that at one point the Americans "launched something" that sounded like a very intense sound wave.

"Suddenly I felt like my head was exploding from the inside. We all started bleeding from the nose. Some were vomiting blood. We fell to the ground, unable to move. We couldn’t even stand up after that sonic weapon –or whatever it was," he added.
