Simultaneously with the ceasefire in Russia's war against Ukraine, a monitoring mission should be launched to avoid the risk of so-called false flag operations. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy answering questions from journalists in the OP chat.

The Head of State was asked whether the security guarantee mechanism takes into account the risk of so-called false flag operations. In particular, if Russia staged such an incident and blamed Ukraine for it, as it had done before.

"First of all, the security guarantees we talked about are being implemented in stages. And number one for us is to have a monitoring mission simultaneously with the ceasefire," Zelenskyy said.

He added that the monitoring mission would be led by Ukraine's partners, whom "we trust, and whom we trust not only because they are our partners." The President emphasized that the partners are technically capable of doing this.

"They have the satellite, they have the infrastructure, they have all the drone infrastructure to do it," he said.

Regarding the response to such operations, the Head of State said that this is the second part of the security guarantees, which "spells out point by point how our partners will respond in the event of a ceasefire violation."
